Do I have to clean my wheels before using Wheeler Sealer?
For best results, yes. A coating cannot stick as well to a dirty surface, and it's never a good idea sealing grime into the finish.
What can I use to clean and dress my tyres?
We do additional products for this; Pneu Look to deep clean sidewalls and then Dark Matter as a satin finish non-sling dressing to coat them afterwards.
How should I clean the Captain Crevice Wheel Mitt?
Just rinse it out and let it dry naturally - you can even wash it with the rest of your microfibres in the washing machine (liquid non-bio detergent, 30-40 degree wash, no conditioner or softener) and tumble dry it after (low heat).
There are still black spots on my wheels after using Deep Purple and Tarmageddon. Why is this?
Deep Purple will remove must brake dust, even if baked on, but if after several applications the debris is too ingrained, you may need a strong acid to clean them or they could even need refurbishment. Tar spots that are not removed with Tarmageddon will probably be years old and so dry that a solvent won't touch them. You can heat them up with a heat gun or hair dryer or pick them off carefully using a scraper or blade - then use Tarmageddon on the residue. In 99% of cases, our products will meet or exceed needs and expectations, but very old wheels that have suffered years of storage or neglect may require more specialist treatment.
