1. Apply a small amount directly to the affected area using a soft cloth
2. Allow it to sit for a few minutes – let the paste soften the tar a little bit
3. Gently wipe the area clean with the soft cloth used for application
4. For more aggressive tar spot removal, try Tarmageddon, or failing that, Stripp-Ex panelwipe

Is it safe on all paint finishes?
Tarmalade is safe to use on most finishes as it is one of the gentlest tar removers on the market. However, avoid applying to fresh paint or SMART repairs and always test on a small hidden area first if the paint or finish is delicate.

How do I use it without making a mess?
Apply a small dab to the tar spot with a microfibre cloth, leave it for a few minutes than gently rub the tar off. Wipe the area after with a clean microfibre. Don't use too much product.

Will it remove wax or coatings?
It may remove wax in the immediate area, but the area may be small enough not to require a complete reapplication of the coating.

What if I need a stronger product?
Reach for Tarmageddon or, failing that, Stripp-Ex. These are more aggressive solvents.
