"Black trim's back alright!" sang the Backstreet Boys after using some of this trim and tyre specific black wax on their tour bus.

Far more durable than a traditional dressing, Taint it Black hangs around for ages and darkens plastic trim before being buffed to a dry finish. And then it rains and you see the water bead like ball bearings... a hidden gem in the Dodo range.

  • Restores faded plastic trim to a deeper, darker finish
  • Excellent 'natural finish' tyre dressing
  • Wax-based formula adds protection as well as a true tint (thanks to black dye content)
  • Long-lasting finish (can last many months rather than weeks) that is dry to the touch after buffing, so doesn't attract dust or dirt like sticky dressings
  1. Apply a small amount ideally using a foam applicator like Pucker Up to the dry, clean trim or tyre surface (you could use a lint free cloth if you really had to)
  2. Spread evenly - a little goes a long way, that's why we did it in a tiny 30ml jar
  3. Let it haze after a few minutes, and then buff it off with a lint-free microfibre cloth
  4. Do another coat or two if the trim is faded
  5. Reapply as required to maintain the look (tyres may require it after every wash, but trim should last for weeks or months)

We'd normally expect at least 2-4 months of longevity for this product but it can last longer (or be removed prematurely by strong chemicals like Traffic Film Removers or aggressive pre-washes.

Does it work on all plastics?
Yes, it works on all exterior plastics and rubber, although if the plastic is faded it may show up underlying inconsistencies in finish (sometimes further application of product reduces patchiness).

How long does it last?
Usually several weeks to many months, depending on area of application, ambient conditions, car storage conditions and mileage driven. Tyres get dirty quickly so don't expect too much. But do a 50/50 on trim and you can often see a tangible 'applied vs non-applied' finish 9 months later!

Will it sling off onto paintwork?
No, once it's cured it stays put. Wet dressings are sticky and collect dirt. Not Taint it Black.

Does it leave a glossy or matt finish?
It leaves a natural matt finish on tyres when buffed (think matt black not dull brown) and a rich satin sheen on plastic trim and window rubbers (rather than full blown gloss).

Why reference Backstreet Boys in the description when Taint it Black is word play on a Rolling Stones song?
Good question, Pop Master! MrSkittles will get back to you. Maybe.
