How much concentrate should I use?
You will use the whole 500ml bottle in one go. Most washer reservoirs are 2-3 litres in capacity, so generally for Summer months you can simply empty the bottle in and top up with deionised or filtered water. However, if you need maximum -40 degrees Celcius freezing point performance then use it neat, or mixed 1:1 with water. Washer jets are less likely to freeze the more concentrated the mixture.
Can I use it year-round?
Yes, but if you use it in the Summer you may want to dilute it fir economy reasons as it’s rated to -40°C. It'll help clear those bug splats and smears better than lesser screen-washes.
Is it suitable for all cars?
Some car manufacturers prohibit the use of third party screen-washes due to the different types of solvent base potentially interfering in the washer jet system and causing lumpy or gelatinous deposits that block tubes or filters. Whilst Spirited Away uses a high quality alcohol component for best cleaning and anti-smearing properties, we cannot comment on other screen-washes. If in doubt, stick to what the car manufacturer recommends.
What if dirt or smears still remain after using Spirited Away as a screen-wash?
Spirited Away cleans better than regular screen-washes, but it will never be as good as a dedicated glass cleaner like Clearly Menthol, used with a specialist glass cloth like Mint Merkin. If you need to, stop the car, clean using dedicated products, then carry on.
My washer jets still ice up, what can I do?
Use Spirited Away at a higher concentration, neat if necessary. Obviously some parts of the washer jet mechanism, may become blocked with snow or ice in extreme conditions and this may need to be cleared or melt before the washer system works. But Spirited Away will melt ice on contact, so it shouldn't take long before you are on your way.
