Ever since Snow (the one-hit wonder white rapper) invented Snow Foam, detailers have gone crazy for a flurry of white foamy goodness.
Now, you don't need to be an expert to realise that snow foaming without a proper snow foam lance is like trying to compete in the Grand National on a lame Shetland pony.
The 'foam gun' that came with the pressure washer, or the one you got from the garden centre that you pump up manually, could be woefully lacking.
And by lacking, we mean 'dribbling out watery foam no matter how good your snow foam is'.
Now, all that could change by investing in a proper snow foam lance, like our Snow Commotion here.
Being a 'proper' snow foam lance means that the Snow Commotion is made of brass, with a 1 litre dosing bottle and adjustments for mixture (top knob), blade compression (twistable nozzle) and even spray orientation (vertical, horizontal or anything in-between).
There is a classic (rectangular lug not wedge-shaped lug bayonet) K*rcher K-series connector as standard (you may need to buy a different adaptor separately if required) and also a special quick release mechanism. This works with a lot of stubby pressure washer guns (a good upgrade, you can find them on eBay), or just use it to quickly detach the lance for fill ups etc.
Being a v2 lance design, it also features a wide mouth for easy filling of the 1 litre bottle, graduated markings on the bottle inc dilution ratios, and it's more stable with a wider base, too.
Attach it to a decent pressure washer (we have a K*rcher K2 as a basic machine in our bay and this 110 bar machine works well, assuming good water pressure/flow as input - 130 bar machines will do even better), and it will result in thick, shaving-cream-like foam - assuming the right snow foam (Apple iFoam, iFoam Max) and the right lance settings. Soft water will foam even more.
- Choose between the standard Snow Commotion, a Snow Commotion and 100ml Apple iFoam tester, or a Snow Commotion with 1 litre/2 litres of snow foam (Apple iFoam pH-neutral foam or iFoam Max intensive TFR snow foam for max cleaning).
- If you do not have a classic K*rcher K-series pressure washer gun with the rectangular bayonet lugs on the connector (new K-series from 2023/24 have wedge style bayonet lugs), you will need to buy the right connector/adapter IN ADDITION to the K-series one (see here for all the adaptors we do, don't choose the K*rcher K-series one as that comes with the kit as standard), or you'll need to source one yourself from eBay etc. (female G1/4" fitment required).
Some assembly is required but we include PTFE tape and instructions with all kits. Just grab a spanner/wrench to carefully tighten everything up.
Please note: if the foam is watery and your lance settings, snow foam concentration, pressure washer and water supply seem fine, check that the lance diptube is properly attached and not blocked by being stuck against the side of the lance bottle. And after every use, rinse the foam lance thoroughly by running 1 litre of water through it as if it was snow foam solution - this is critical if any sealant or drying aid is used (we do not recommend the use of lance based sealants and drying aids for this reason). Hard water, sealants and other contaminants can block the mesh filter (spare part available at extra cost, contact us for details).
