Born Slippy isn't just an Underworld song, it's a specialist clay lubricant made to reduce paint marring during the clay process and to actually cleanse paint at the same time. Silicone based lubes work against cleaning, this detergent based one doesn't.

Bursting with cleaning agents, tangerine overtones and a lot of lubrication, some of the world's best detailers, like Mike Phillips, are known to indulge - and when you can buy it in an economical 5 litre container as well as in a handy 500ml spray, why use anything else?

  • Dedicated and specialist clay lubricant, no silicones that can work against contaminant removal and no strong solvents that could break down your clay bar
  • Far safer for paint than water only claying techniques - whilst some clays only need water, the contamination they remove should be lubricated to prevent marring or paint damage
  • More economical to use than detailing shampoo, plus you can dilute this ready to use product even further if needed
  1. Leave the car wet after washing/rinsing - don't dry it
  2. Spray Born Slippy onto the area of a panel you are claying
  3. Tear off a small amount of clay and roll into a ball before flattening the clay piece into a small pancake, about two or three fingers wide
  4. Move the clay over the lubricated surface, you'll feel - and even hear - the embedded contamination in the paint, and the clay will start gliding more freely as this contamination is removed
  5. When the clay pad face becomes dirty, fold it in on itself and reflatten
  6. After a couple of folds the clay is done, throw it away and grab another piece
  7. Repeat the process over whole panels, then the whole car including glass and even wheels (avoid sensitive finishes and fabric roofs etc) - you will only use as much clay as you need to
  8. Clay once or twice a year, or before adding a new long term wax or sealant layer (it's a deep clean for your paint); garaged or covered cars need claying less

Is Born Slippy ready-to-use?
Yes, it is ready to spray as it comes from the bottle but you can dilute it further if you feel it is necessary. We do a 100ml of Slip Shot that is a refill concentrate that makes 1 litre of clay lube if you want to 'dilute it yourself'.

Does it contain silicone?
No, silicone can saturate clays and even make contaminants harder to remove from the paint.

Does it contain solvents?
No, solvents can leach the clay causing it to crumble and powder.

Can I leave my clay soaking in Born Slippy overnight?
No, clay doesn't need to be left in water or clay lube for longevity, just store it in its case or an airtight container and manipulate it before use to soften it.
