1. This kit contains four machine polishing pads: Peak Finish fine cut foam, Shark Fin mid cut foam, Slim Reaper heavy cut foam and Fibre Scyther heavy cut microfibre pad
2.Select the correct pad for the polishing job in hand; you will most likely start with a fine or mid cut pad to gauge the softness of the paint; it is suggested to use the Fibre Scyther not the Slim Reaper for heavier cut with a DA/orbital as it runs cooler
3. Use Stripp-Ex panel wipe to check the true cut achieved; step up the cut if the paint can take it - there's no point wasting time tickling the clearcoat
4. After the cutting stage, it may be necessary to refine the finish - use Peak Finish with a light cut compound like Critical Finish
5. Don't get the pads too hot in use, this suggests the wrong technique, pad or polish is being used (and the pad will be in danger of delamination)
6. Wash the pads after use with neat washing up liquid massaged into the face under a running tap; then rinse clean of suds and allow to air dry

Can I use them on a full panel?
They’re designed for small areas, so better for spot work. Using a small pad to fully correct a bonnet will take ages and may not be as consistent as using a larger pad.

Do they work on any DA machine?
Yes, as long as it has a smaller 75-90mm backing plates. Note that some large orbit machines only work with 125mm backing plates.

Can I machine wash them?
Machine washing will never get them clean enough; you need to massage in neat washing up liquid into the pad face as you rotate the pad through your fingers and thumbs; then rinse with water until they no longer foam and allow to air dry.

How do I know which pad does what?
The white microfibre pad is a cutting pad, easy. Orange is heavy cut foam. Green mid cut foam. Red or black foams we sell are fine cut. You can also see how firm the pads are by pressing two pads into each other - the one that gives more is softer and will tend to cut less.

Will they work with any polish brand?
Absolutely, but they obviously work well with Dodo Juice polishes.
