We recently had a seance with the late, great Elvis and asked him what cloths he used on his Cadillac Eldorado's gleaming paintwork.

"Being very soft and with an ultra-short microsuede pile, I use Two Suede Blues, uh-huh," came the ghostly reply. "Those darn cloths are perfect for final stage, or secondary, buffing. Whilst the short pile means they'd get saturated quickly during normal buffing, their softness, absorbency and short pile help remove oils and residues from the paint surface at the final buffing stages - largely preventing ‘oil holograms’, smearing or patchiness. I thank you."

And with that, the lights flickered back on, and we were left to marvel at The King's amazing insight into detailing techniques.

These 40x40cm microsuede cloths come only as a twin pack, and are particularly useful in combination with the super-plush Fantastic Fur buffing cloth (this would be used for primary buffing, with a Suede Blue cloth for the final passes).

They are also brilliant for all lint-free applications, final stage metal polishing and for cleaning interior glass, touchscreens and the like. Please note that if used for metal polishing, these will not wash clean due to the nature of metal residues. Wash them to remove as much contamination as possible then only use them for metal polishing duties thereafter.

Suede Blue cloths are machine washableWash them with a non-bio liquid at 30 degrees for light soiling or 40 degrees for heavier contamination - or even better, grab some of our Dodo Juice Furry Liquid, which is made for the job. Avoid the use of fabric conditioners or softeners at all costs as these can make microfibre cloths water repellent. If this happens, take them to the dry cleaners or soak them in a strong APC solution overnight (Dodo Juice Total Wipe Out is ideal for this). Finally, you are able to tumble dry these cloths on a low heat. Consign old microfibres that are too dirty or past their best to secondary duties like metal polishing.
