Blue Velvet 30ml - hard wax for dark coloured cars
One of our best selling waxes - Blue Velvet - but in a smaller package. Just what the doctor ordered, assuming he was a detailing doctor with a PhD in paint protection.
Enough to do three to four coats on a normal sized car, i.e. you may struggle if it's a stretch Hummer or a helicopter that you're planning to tackle.
Remember that the Basics of Bling Wax Applicators or Supernatural Finger Mitt foam applicators are perfect for use with these small 30ml jars - they reach places other applicators can't (like the openings of small containers).
Expect a 2-4% dye tint on paintwork - it won't be that noticeable but it is there and it does darken the original finish. Metallics/pearlescents are going to enjoy the best results here. Recoating interval is a recommended 2-3 months.
Hard vs Soft Wax - which is the one for you? Whilst many of our waxes have a standard consistency, we make some of our waxes a little firmer or softer than normal. Softer waxes are easier to spread by palm or fingertips. Hard waxes often cure faster and go further, because they are less likely to be accidentally over-applied. Both contain similar amounts of carnauba and beeswax and performance will be similar. Harder waxes may cure better if you are new to waxing, so these may seem to offer more performance. And soft waxes may feel glossier due to their 'sorbet' like texture. It often comes down to personal preference - there's no right or wrong with wax texture, it just comes down to what you like.
